How to Find Direction and Inner Peace as a Teacher

Day 4: “Rage on the Page”

I learned this technique from my participation in various Gabby Bernstein memberships.  She has helped me through so much and boy do I wish I had had her in my life when I was in the classroom.  While learning this amazing technique from Gabby, in my own research for this post I have learned that it is a popular technique from various outlets.  Gabby actually attributes her practice from  Dr. John Sarno who has contributed to some of the most profound healing techniques of this century including tapping into repressed emotion to heal physical ailments of the body.

While Days 2 and 3 were anchored in gratitude today’s practice focuses on the reverse.  This time, you get to let everything out, especially any frustrations and pent up anger that you are holding onto which is called “Rage on the Page”.

Gabby typically suggests doing this for 20 minutes, however I have modified steps below.

Step 1: Find background music to drown out all other sounds.  Gabby recommends binaural beats.  You can find her recommended playlist here

Step 2: Set your timer for at least 7 minutes.

Step 3: Begin writing everything you can think of that is causing pent up anger or frustration.  Be honest, be real, be raw and let your pen (or typing) take you away.

Step 4: When the timer goes off, with the music continuing, close your eyes for at least 3 minutes and relax.

Step 5 (optional) : Meditate a mantra such as, “I give myself permission to….” Example: “I give myself permission to be happy, calm, and at peace.”

Facebook Community Action Step:

  1. Share with the group what you are giving yourself permission to be.
